Hi. I'm Dr James Morgan, the owner of Custom Copywriting Ltd.
I'm a freelance writer and copywriter with extensive marketing experience in London and the Channel Islands. Here’s my story – and an insight into the skills I bring to every project.
My career began in 1999 at Wallace Barnaby, which was the Channel Islands’ largest through-the-line advertising agency at the time. I subsequently moved to London where I became a copywriter at Black Cat, which was the direct marketing arm of J. Walter Thompson in Knightsbridge, London.
I've written copy for both large companies and SMEs across several different sectors, including finance, tourism, leisure, utilities, technology, retail and FMCGs. My experience therefore couldn't be more extensive:
I've written mailpacks for The Caravan Club, composed letters for Price Waterhouse Coopers, helped Marks & Spencer launch a new baby department, and written leaflets about Motorola's latest mobile phone gadgets.
I've also helped a number of small local businesses - thinking of company names, slogans, and writing their brochures and websites. No job, or client, is too big or too small.
I'm also an author and prolific blogger. I have a PhD in modern American history - so I've got excellent research skills - and I’ve written a book about US imperialism which is set to be published in the United States next year; it will feature in a series entitled Studies in American Thought And Culture.
Meanwhile, I co-edit a popular cricket blog called www.thefulltoss.com which has appeared in the national media many times.
