Working With Me … The Nitty-Gritty
Before I start work it’s vital that I understand your business. Therefore we’ll need to talk in person – either on the phone, Skype or face to face.
Expect lots of questions. What do you do? What makes you different? Who is your target audience?
Next we’ll discuss the precise type of copy you need. What, exactly, is the copy trying to achieve? Do you have a tone of voice in mind? If you’re unsure I can advise you.
The Quote …
After we’ve spoken I’ll quote you a flat fee to complete the job. The price will include one sets of amends and no hidden costs. I may require a deposit for larger projects.
Next you’ll need to read my terms of business. Asking me to proceed indicates you’re happy with these. Before I start I’ll write a copy brief to crystallise our thinking. This sets out what’s required in black and white.
Then I’ll begin writing ….
I’ll send you a first draft before the deadline agreed. Once you’ve digested the copy I’ll make a set of amends free of charge. Please brief these amends in one go within a couple of weeks.
When the job’s complete I’ll send you an invoice. Payment will be due on receipt. Let me know if you have any questions or whether you’d prefer to work differently. I’m happy to be flexible.
